ARCHIVES: FEBRUARY 2011

tuesday february 15

Wow. I didn't even mention Valentine's Day. Why didn't someone say something?

I surprised my husband saturday afternoon with a lover's picnic! It wasn't super pre-meditated but it came together quite nicely. (...nothing a $30 trip to the store can't fix!) I packed a cooler of drinks, a blanket, some utensils. We had prosciutto, salami, truffle cheese, olives, crackers, raisin apple bread, fig/almond block! It was a 70 degree sunny afternoon.

Last night, Adam made scallops, filet mignon (topped with buttery sauteed mushrooms), asparagus and garlic bread! I was stuffed senseless. It's so wonderful to save money by going out, and instead, buy yourself a lovely piece of fish or meat or whatever you fancy! Light some candles and do it up.

Hope you had a nice Valentine's too!

monday february 14

While in Seattle last week for work, I got in on some Ivar's action and sat down to this lovely bowl of clam chowder, right on the water.

sunday february 13

This is our succulent garden with snow. (make note of the one in the bottom right)

...And this is our garden, after. (same plant, next day, top.) Limp and deflated.

But don't be too sad -- now we have room for new plants!! That's what spring is for.

SUNDAy february 6

Found a bag on Etsy made by tippthai. (Crazy good prices)

It'll be a great traveling bag (washable) and a solid everyday bag too. I like the adjustable strap and the outside pockets and the overall shape. Excited to have it in person!

This messenger bag is pretty hard to resist. Those buttons on the front are the kicker.
